Grafton Gardens Tour

The Grafton Garden Club is presenting "Grafton Gardens Tour" on Sunday, June 14, 2009 from 1pm to 5pm. Nine gardens in and around Grafton will be available for public viewing. This number allows approximately 25 minutes per garden (plus travel time) to visit each garden on the tour and more time if you only want to visit some of the gardens. There are gardens of various types including: Vegetable, Rock, Meditation, Flower, Established and Newly Planted. If you are interested in the tour, tickets will only be on sale Sunday, June 14, 2009 starting at 12:30pm on the Grafton Common. When you purchase a ticket for $15/person, you receive a booklet with the garden locations, full-color pictures, and a description of each garden along with maps that show you the location of the gardens and can help[ you plan out your tour. The booklet also includes a page where you can take notes of interesting plants or landscaping ideas to look into later. You also receive three ballots to vote for the best gardens. Owners of the winning gardens receive gift certificates from area businesses. The ballots also allow you to ever a drawing for the visitors, also for gift certificates to area businesses and membership into the Grafton Garden Club. Best Garden winners will be announced in the Grafton News, and visitor winners will be notified by mail. There will be canisters and Garden Club members (look for the green Grafton Garden Club aprons) at each garden to validate your ticket and to receive your votes, so you can tour them all before deciding. Or you can return to the Common to drop off your votes. Proceeds from the tour benefit the Scholarship and Grant fund that the Grafton Garden Club uses to help Grafton students and educators further interest in, and knowledge of, the horticultural arts. If you have questions, you can email tours@graftongardenclub.org, or come to the Grafton Common from 12:30pm to 5pm on Sat., June 14, 2009.
