Grafton Garden Club Looks to the Future

The Grafton Garden Club has a number of workshops and meetings planned for the 2007-2008 year. Starting in September, there is a Welcome Back Pot Luck Supper from the Garden. In October, Don Post from The Farmer's Daughter will talk about Fall Gardening and Maintenance. November will have the members of the Club decorating the Willard House and Clock Museum, as usual, in time for Grafton Celebrates the Holidays. Also in November, there will be a hands on workshop for making a Holiday Mantel or Centerpiece. For Grafton Celebrates the Holidays, the Grafton Garden Club will be holding a Mantel/Centerpiece contest and providing a kid's activity at the Community Harvest Barn. In December, the Club will hold their Holiday Party. In February, the club will have a hands-on workshop for Miniature Dried Flower Valentine Arrangement. In March, Nick Chase will talk to the Club about Daylilies. In April, a certified aromatherapist will lead a hands on workshop to create a oil blend along with a discussion on what you can do with this creation. Also in April, the Grafton Garden Club will once again sponsor Grafton Community Day on April 26, 2008 where the town residents and businesses get together to clean up Grafton. In May, the annual plant sale and raffle is scheduled for May 17, 2008 from 9am to noon. In June, the Grafton Garden Club will hold their annual meeting and tea. Also, in June, the Garden Club is planning on a trip to Newport to tour the mansions and gardens. Details and dates are subject to change. The Grafton Garden Club is a non-profit organization that has members from many area towns. The Club provides scholarships and grants to area schools for the educational pursuit of horticulture.
