Peter Alden's "Invasive Alien Plant Crisis"
On Tuesday, April 10, 2007 the Grafton Garden Club and Grafton Land Trust are very pleased to bring Peter Alden from Concord, Massachusetts and his "Invasive Alien Plant Crisis" presentation to the Grafton Inn. This meeting will be a prix fixe meal and cash bar with drinks starting at 6:30pm and dinner at 7pm. Peter Alden has a B.A. in Geography and Anthropology from the University of Arizona. He is President of the Nuttall Ornithological Club, a Founding member of the International Avian Vernaculars Committee, and Chair of the Blake Fund. He's in Who's Who in American 2000 and Who's Who in the World 2001. He held an executive office of Environmental Affairs in Massachusetts and was Biodiversity Aide to Secretary Robert Durance from Sept 1999 to July 2002. He organized the first state-wide biodiversity day. After he learned everything about birds that there is to know, he branched out to learn about plants (get it...branched out). He's written a ton of books on birds, plants, and all sorts of things. All this and he's a very entertaining speaker, too. We will be publicizing this heavily (we're thinking posters around town, major paper push, and anything else we can think of). Space is limited, so reserve early. Dinner is priced at $25.50 for chicken supreme or $27.50 for stuffed sole. Both meals come with Caesar salad, mashed potatoes, garden mixed vegetables (of course!), chocolate mousse, coffee or tea. Tax and tip are included. Bring your family and have a great dinner. For your reservations, email ggc@net1plus.com, or mail The Grafton Garden Club, P.O. Box 453, Grafton, MA 01519-0453. Payment must be received before April 3, 2007 to hold your space. Please be sure to specify which meal (chicken or sole) when sending your check made payable to the Grafton Garden Club.
