Grafton Community Day

On Saturday, April 29, 2006, businesses, organizations, and residents of Grafton will come together to better the town during Grafton Community Day. Hopefully, this will become one of Graftonís anticipated annual events. Grafton Community Day includes a community-led clean up of the public areas, beautification of the "Welcome to Grafton" signs at the town entrances, distribution of seedling trees to the residents of Grafton, CRT/white metal collection, and a host of festivities on the Grafton Common. The Grafton Garden Club is organizing the event, but they cannot do it alone. Other organizations are starting to join the Club in this effort, and updates will be provided as the details are worked out. Your help is needed. Here are just a few ways to champion this worthy endeavor:

Form a Clean-Up Team
Teams come in many shapes and sizes! Family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, community groups, and many others can come together to form a team. Each team sets out to clean-up and improve a designated public area. This is a great way to support Grafton, give the town a facelift, and have some fun. Everyone in Grafton, and those who travel through it, will notice the effort put forth for the community. If you are forming a team, please let Dawn know so there will be enough supplies on hand for everyone who wants to participate.

Help Sponsor the Day
While some can contribute their time and energy, others may wish to offer a financial contribution or a donation of goods and services. With an event of this magnitude comes cost. With the help of the fine businesses, organizations, and individuals of Grafton, we can give back to our community. There are five levels of sponsorship: Orchid ($1000+), Rose ($500-999), Lilly ($300-499), Violet ($100-299), and Buttercup ($10-99). Please feel free to contact Dawn if you want to donate a good or service that you think could be of use on Grafton Community Day.

Your goods, services, or financial support will be displayed on posters during the festivities on the Grafton Common and acknowledged in the Grafton News following the event.

Please note that all funds raised for Grafton Community Day will be used for that effort alone. Monies raised will not be used for any other club activity or purchase of any kind.

The Grafton Garden Club is a non-profit organization that has members from many area towns. The Club provides scholarships and grants to area schools for the educational pursuit of horticulture.
