Visit Flora in Winter Thanks to Grafton Garden Club

The Worcester Art Museum (WAM) and Tower Hill Botanic Garden (THBG) have once again teamed up to bring a little color into Central New Englandís Season of Snow. "Flora in Winter" is an amazing, four-day, art and floral extravaganza, presented by WAM and THBG from Thursday, February 3, 2005 through Sunday, February 6, 2005. Around every corner of the Museum at 55 Salisbury Street in Worcester you will encounter stunning fresh floral arrangements inspired by selected works from the Museumís renowned collection. At THBG, 11 French Street in Boylston, "Flora in Winter" features "Poetic Expressions" where the arrangements reflect a poem chosen by the arranger. The arrangements offer a profound and often surprising interpretation of flowers echoing written expression. There are some special events, including "Flora Euphoria!" at the WAM on Thursday February 3 from 5-9pm which is an evening reception with hors díoeuvres and a cash bar. The reception is free for WAM and THBG members and $15 for non-members. Also, "Candlelight Concert" will be held at THBG on Friday February 4 at 7:30pm and this is $20 for THBG or WAM members and $25 for non-members. Call 508-869-6111 ext 36 for tickets. "Flora Tours" are free with general admission at WAM on Friday, February 4 at 12:30, 1, 1:30, and 2pm; Saturday, February 5 at 11am, 1, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:20pm; and Sunday, February 6 at 12:30 and 1:30pm. There are also "Flora Tours" at THBG on Thursday and Friday at 1pm and Saturday and Sunday at 1 and 3pm. Demonstrations will also be available for purchase at THBG.
