Herbs
Time/Place: 6:30p.m. Willard House & Clock Museum
Event Description: This event will start with a walking tour at the Willard House with the program starting at 7p.m. Christie from Old Sturbridge Village will kick off the new Club year by talking to us about herbs. This meeting is being offered in conjunction with the Grafton Historical Society and the Willard House. Refreshments will be available.
Free for members, suggested $5 for non-members

Tussy Mussy Dried Flowers
Time/Place: 7:00p.m. Harvest Barn
Event Description: A tussy mussy, according to legend, is a boquet of dried flowers from the Victorian times, usally made from flowers picked by the roadside. Come and make a tussy mussy of your own. Space is limited. Reservations and material fee required.

Fresh Holiday Floral Centerpiece Arrangement Workshop
Time/Place: 7:00 p.m. Corey Barn
Event Description: Pat will lead us in a workshop to create a beautiful holiday boxwood tree. You will be able to enter your creation in the contest for Grafton Celebrates the Holidays. Space is limited. Call Chrystal to reserve your space for more information.

Grafton Celebrates the Holidays (Holiday Boxwood Tree Display)
Event Description: Fresh holiday boxwood trees made by Club members will be put on display at the Harvest Community Barn. This project aligns with Grafton Celebrates the Holidays. Also, we will be downstairs at the Harvest Barn with a kid's workshop to make reusable birdfeeders out of animal shapes from Tom Knapp.

Holiday Party - Quick & Doable Decorating for the Holidays
Time/Place: 7:00 p.m. Municipal Center
Event Description: Al DeLuca of Flor-Al's will present a demonstation on how to create quick decorations for the holiday season. The examples he makes will be avaiable as prizes to attendees.
Free for members, suggested $5 for non-members

Native American Smudging
Time/Place: 7:00 p.m. Municipal Center
Event Description: Donna Onacki, will lead a workshop where you can make your own smudge stick. A smudge stick is a bundle of dried herbs, most commonly white sage and other herbs or plants and the leaves are usually bound with string in a small bundle and dried. Native American ceremonies often use smudges of sage, sweet grass, and/or juniper to cleanse. Learn hands-on about this healing and clearing ritual.

Wildflowers of Southern Worcester County with Mark Blazis
Time/Place: 6:00 p.m. Harvest Barn
Event Description: The Grafton Garden Club and the Grafton Land Trust present a catered dinner and special presentation. Dinner starts at 6pm with hor d'oeuvres, followed by chicken piccatta, vegetables, garlic potatoes, a garden salad, rolls, desert and coffee. After dinner, Mark Blazis, recipient of the Garden Club of America Award, will talk about and "Wildflowers of Southern Worcester County". Space is limited and reservations must be made and paid for before March 2, 2009. To reserve a space, send a check, payable to the Grafton Garden Club, for $22 per person, to Grafton Garden Club, PO Box 453, Grafton, MA 01519-0453. Include the names of the people attending and a contact phone number or email address for confirmation of space availability.

Container Gardening

Event Description: The Grafton Garden Club presents John Mapel with a discussion and demonstration of Container Gardening. Come and get some ideas on how to create interesting and unique gardens using containers. Don't let your imagination be contained! Mr. Mapel will talk about container gardening, answer questions, and then create some container gardens that will be given away as door prizes for attending

Grafton Community Day
Time/Place: 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Grafton Common
Event Description: Help clean up Grafton! This is the 4th year of this community-wide event hosted by the Grafton Garden Club is a great way to come together for the good of our community. Bring your family and join the Garden Club and other local organizations as we Spring clean our town! Boy Scout Troop 107 starts the day with a pancake breakfast beginning at 7:30a.m. After breakfast, pick up your bags and start cleaning up the town. There will also be a CRT and white metal recycling drop off at the Grafton Recycling Center. Bag distribution is at the Municipal Center from April 20-24 and the Common starting at 9:00a.m. on April 25. Come back to the Common at noon and enjoy your thannk you lunch on the common.

Annual Plant Sale & Raffle
Time/Place: 9:00 a.m. to noon Grafton Common
Event Description: The Grafton Garden Club Annual Plant Sale and Raffle is quickly becoming a favorite Grafton tradition. There are many plants to choose from, plus our famous raffle table! Our available scholarship and grant money derives directly from this, our only fundraiser of the year. All members are encouraged to attend and help out, either before the sale or on the day of the sale.

Garden in the Woods Tour
Time/Place: 1:00 p.m. N. Framingham
Event Description: Carpool from the Municipal Center to Framingham to enjoy this ever-changing living museum-New England's premier wildflower garden Garden in the Woods has more than 1,500 native plant species and cultivars, with many rare and endangered native speciments throughout the gardens, as well as the unique "New England Garden of Rare and Endangered Plants."
Adults: $8, Seniors(65+): $6, Youths(3-18): $4, Students(w/ ID): $6

June 13 & 14, 2009

Annual Meeting and Tea for MEMBERS ONLY & Tour of Grafton Gardens
Time/Place: Tour of Grafton Gardens: 1p.m. - 4p.m.
Annual Meeting & Member's Dinner: 5p.m. - 9:p.m.

Event Description: The tour of Grafton gardens is open to the public and the fees benefit the Scholarship and Grant funds. A map will be provided with the locations of the gardens, and the public can tour the area from 1p.m. until 4p.m. Afterwards, there will be the annual meeting and a catered dinner at a location to be determind later.
Reservations are required for annual meeting and dinner only for members.
